Heng Yu
– Heng Yu is an architect, designer, and 3D visualiser. Trained as an architect in Taiwan, he first participated in the large-scale public building project, Guangci Boai Park (廣慈博愛園區), at L. R. Hsiao Architect & Associates. He was involved from the competition through to the detailed design stage of an office complex and a social welfare centre, working with internal and external teams of professionals from various disciplines and becoming proficient at collaborating and coordinating. He obtained his post-master’s degree in architecture from the Berlage Center, TU Delft, where he expanded his skill set in filmmaking and visualisation. While there, he took the lead at every stage of the collective videomaking. Yu subsequently broadened his experience in the Netherlands by working at the architectural firm KCAP in 2022, where he coordinated an international team and visualised concepts and strategies for the Feilong Lake Region urban design competition in China. In addition to this, he worked on the exhibition filmography for IABR: Future Generation with Juan Benavides. Since 2023, he has returned to practice in Taiwan, working as an independent 3D visualiser for various architectural firms. He has produced 3D animation videos for MAYU architects in several public project competitions, in which the firm won first prize. Yu has also collaborated with artists, architects, and developers to put 3D animation in various applications. His diverse experiences offer strong interdisciplinary insight into all stages of the design process.
